NIUE ISLAND CORRECTION

A letter has been received from Mrs. Beharell, Niue Island, asking that a little mistake in wording which appears in a letter from Mrs. Head, who for so long lias been active in carrying on the Union work in the Island, and which appears in the June “White Ribbon.” 1946, be correcUu. Mrs. Head says, “The President has given us a new name, and is ordering a new badge. This will be the number two badge to be worn above the white bow. F.C.W. are the letters, standing for’ ‘Federation of Christian Women.’ It is to be in blue and gold." Mrs. Beharell wishes it to be made known that the letters, F.C.W. stand for “Federation of Congregational Women,” not for “Federation of Chriatian Women.”

TARANAKI DISTRICT CONVENTION will be held in New Plymouth during February. PRIZE TEMPERANCE ESSAY RESULTS First Prize, of £lO. won by Pearl Weaver, Helensville District High School. Second Prize, £5, won by D. Brasch, Wellington College. It is hoped to publish the First Prize Essay in the March “Beacon" if space permits.—Editor.
