WITHIN THE VEIL

MRS. E. V. WEIR Maungakaramea Union Maungakaramea Union, in the Northland district, has recently suffered loss in the passing of their President, Mrs. E. V. Weir, of Tauraroa. Mrs. Weir joined the Union in Whangarei. She was a very keen supI>orter of the Temi>erance Movement since her Band of Hope days, and was president of Maungakaramea for over ten vears. For several vear.s she was treasurer of the Northland District, and was conscientious and efficient in both positions. She took a prominent part in the W’ork of the Presbyterian Church, being a Manager at Mangapai Church, a member of the P.W.M.U., and with her late husband, closely associated with the work of the local Sunday School. She was a past president of Tauraroa Women’s Institute. She will be greatly missed in the district.

MRS. I. PASLEY Maungaturoto Union

The Maungaturoto Union regrets to rejK)rt the passing of ore who was, for many years, an active member and secretary of the Union, Mrs. I. Pasley. For the past few years, Mrs. Pasley has lived in Auckland, and on account of ill-health, did not link up with another Union. Her husband predeceased her some years ago. Our sympathy goes out to her family in their great loss.
