President's Message

Dear Friends, — What encouragement have we received during the last month? More important still, what encouragement have we given? On a number of occasions lately important members of the Bench, as reported in our daily papers, have s|>oken very plainly of the damage caused by the consumption of alcohol by members of the public. Dut these statements of known facts v ith your "ammunition” ready for use in your educational work. Are you not proud to have a woman Cabinet Minister? Ever Since the Cnion fought for the franchise, and won it, women have waited and imped to see women of integrity in high places. Now it is our privilege and our duty to give the Hon. Mabel Howard all the goodwill and moral supjHjrt we arc aide. Her |>osition is by no means an easv one.

■ Is your leaflet distribution going well? I hope so. Even if you can only carry out a tiny piece of educational work, do it. Do you remember the old hymn—- “ Little drops of water. Little grains of sand. Make a mighty ocean, And a pleasant land”?

Do not for one minute forget that even the smallest service rendered with cheerfulness and goodwill will help to make this a truly ‘pleasant land” —hut also it does that magnificent thing—it helps to show forth the love of God to a world sadly in need of hope and cheer and love. Yours in the service of the Master, C. E. KIRK, Dominion President.
