SCHOOL OF METHODS

The Auckland District W.C.T.U. held, a School of Methods on July Bth. Mrs. Hugh Kasper presided, and welcomed officers, superintendents and members from various Unions. The morning session opened with Devotions, most of those present taking part. Mrs. J. Williams gave a reading and a »alk on Public Speaking and Leadership. The combined Departments of S xial and Moral Hygiene, and Health and Nutrition, were studied and discussed. The Dominion Superintendent, Mrs. R. Mountjoy, had written a paper on "Health and Nutrition,” which was read by Miss Appleby. The District Superintendent, Mrs. J. T. Holmes, also gave a paper, and an article was read from a booklet written by the World’s Superintendent on the subject. The School adjourned at noon and resumed at 1 p.m. The combined Departments of Good Fellowship and Flower and Philanthropic were dealt with; and Mrs. Kasper read a paper on the work of the Department. The membership Department was also studied and a letter drawn up to send to Unions was also read. An address on reporting was given by Miss Appleby, and was very helpful. The Methods Superintendent gave a talk on Parliamentary procedure and duties of officers.

Bright singing and flowers helped to make a happy and profitable School.
