SUPERINTENDENT'S LETTER

Dear Sisters, — The Convention, just held in Auckland, appointed me New Zealand Superintendent for Anti-Gambling, and I take this opportunity of appealing to ull Unions to give more time to this serious department of our work. The growing erase for gambling—not only on horses, but through the medium of Art Unions- has been a menace for some time, and I trust tjiat now we are to see the last of all Art Unions, that we shall not have such a plague again. Might 1 appeal to all Unions who have not a local Superintendent to appoint one as soon as possible. Unions who are working this depa tment, will they please keep it before their members, always looking out for extra permits that may he added to the already long ’ . * of racing days. Remember that the New Zealand Superintendent cannot do much unless all the Unions help. Mrs Lill, late Superintendent, has sent me a parcel of leaflets on AntiGambllng, which makes a good paper for a meeting. I trust that Unions will send to me for them, or any other in-

formation they ma> need, and 1 hope to be able to help them at all times. Yours in White Ribbon bonds, MARGARET PIRRETT Superintendent of Anti-Gambling. “Ringrigg.*' 13 Panama Street, Grey Lynn, Auckland.
