There is not much to re|»ort for this lepartment for this month, as Convention and preparations for it took up much time, and picking up the threads >f the work ufterwards, and now the Rules are being revised and drawn up afresh, which will also occasion some telay. Mrs Simons has been visiting md attending meetings since with Miss Mclay in Auckland and Orakei, arousing interest in l-nion work. She has now started for Tuakau. I-OUTO. April 15. Miss Ku|»u a as chairman. Officers were elected: Mrs Tuutuhi. I*resident; Mrs Kemp, Treasurer: Miss Kena. Secretary and “W-R” Reporter. Mrs Ariari had resigned her position as Treasurer. Meeting dosed with a hearty pray. \ FRANK TON. April 27. Home mt*Ong was heid 11 the residence of Mrs Kihi. Sister Nichols led the devotional exercise, un i gave a very helpful address. There a as an attendance of five members and five visitors, and several children.
Owing to Miss Foster having left the district, Sister Nichols was proiKised Superintendent of the Cradle Roll. Other business was dealt w’ith. Judging by the bright look in the eyes of the visiting sisters that they have grasped and understood the great work of the W.CT.U. as explained by Sister Nichols and Mrs White (delegate to Convention), two new members were initiated. REWETI An interesting and encourag 4 og meeting was held in the “Meeting Mouse” on April 30th. The meefnMT opened with prayer, followed by a hymn and reading of portion of St. John 13. It was unanimously decided that the honorary membership fee be 2/6 yearly, same as that for live members. We are very much in need of an organ for local church, so it was decided to start an Organ Fund. In connection with this a social evening, comprising game.s, competitions, music, songs, etc., is to **> held on May 13th. Ladies bring l>asket for supper, and a lx>x for dona - tions be placed inside the door. Also, in aid of this fund it was decided to hold “Diminishing Teas” throughout the district, Mrs Bull to begin by asking four guests, who will each pay V!, to afternoon tea, money collected in this way to he paid into the fund. We decided that, weather etc., permitting,
