First branch of Oturei Union, formed in 1911 by the late Mrs Harris; then Miss Rebecca Smith. There were 18 members. The two standing are still members: Mrs R. Ihaka and Mrs H. Hlmene. Those sitting are:—Left to right: Mrs Moses, Mrs R. P. Waitai, Mrs Tupari, Miss Rebecca Smith, Mrs M. W. Welsh. The mother and aunt of Mis Simons, our Maori Organiser, are sitting down. Both these, as well as Miss Smith, have passed to higher service.
