NOAH AND BOOZE. A correspondent of the St. Louis “Star” comments on the reported finding by the American Oriental Society of a tablet in ancient Nineveh, recently translated which purports to show that Noah had in the cargo taken on board the ark "beer and brandy.” He says anent that interesting discovery: “The wets should not be discouraged- because they can liud anything that they want except success at the polls. My suggestion is that Noah and his old friends should not be dragged into this issue. He rode out the Hood and got on dry land and that was some stunt in those piping wet times.” A little girl was taught to close her evening prayer during the temporary ahscence of her father with “And please watch over my daddy.” It seemed very sweet, but the mother’s amazement may be imagined when the child added, “And >ou'd Mter keep an eye on mummy, too.” Sylvia: “How do you know Cyril loves you.? Has he told you so?” Julia: “No, but you shouid see the way he looks at me when I’m looking at him ” Uncle Ezra: “How did your automobile accident happen?” Uncle Eben: “Well, you see, there’s one thing you keep your eye on. and another you keep your foot on, and another one you keep your hand on. ami 1 guess I got my anatomy in the wrong places.” Liberty is a hard bought heritage of humanity.
