CAMBRIDGE. October 12. There were It members piesent, and after the usual openSiK, we had a debate on "The use of Alcohol as a Medicine.” The negative side won easily on the judge's decision. The business of the meeting was then discussed, also Remits for District ODnvration, to be held on November 3rd. A Jumble Sale held during the isst month brought in a fair sum for our Union. A letter was read from Mrs Young, wishing the t'nion every success in the coining year. Mrs Cltallis, who has ienderod valuable assistance to the I’rtion by giving very interesting adtiresses on First Aid, concluded her talks by giving a very interesting address on "Things we can do without the Aid of a Doctor.” In appreciation of her services to the (Alton, tile President presented Mrs Chain* with s small token of remembrance. Headquarters Building Fund, Wellington NEW BRIGHTON. October *. Well-attended meeting presided over by the President, Mrs Mitchell. Decided that our Annual effort for raising funds should this year take the form of a Cobweb K veiling instead of the usual Concert. Reports of the Provincial <V»nventton were given by Miss 11. Nelson and the President. One of the members read a few very interesting chapters of the Life of Frances Willard. AUCKLAND. November 4. The President. Miss A M M< Lay presided over a good attendant of members and friends. The meeting o;s*n»*d with a hymn. Miss C. M McLay, our late President, now Itominion Organiser for the W.C.T.U.. read the Scripture Lesson and led In prayer. A splendid programme of solos and recitations was rendered, and then Mrs 1 **e-Cowie gave a talk on her observations of "Prohibition in America." A competition and prises brought to a close a \ery enjoyable evening. Supper was provided by some of the ladies. HAMILTON. This Union was formed on August 10th. at a meeting add re seed by Miss McLay. On August 23rd, a Social was held, followed py a meeting. Miss McLay presided The following Officers were elected: — President, Miss G. McKenzie; Secretary, Miss A. E. Wat on; Tr<‘isuur, Miss L. Fear. Wc t;av> had two meetings since then, on September 27tl and November Ist. The membership Is *- »ut all are enthusiastic and interested in t/» w'ork. and we are hoping for more members and wider activities next year.
