HASTINGS. June IS. Usual meeting, Miss Beale presided; IS present. After the busmens, a debate between the Y. Boys and the Y. Girls took pluce, subject: “Should Ghinese laallowed to eome to this lioininion." The girls took the negative, and the boys the afTirmative. The girls won with most iKtlnts. A vote of thanks to Mr Banks, for ac tum as judge, a\nl a dainty supper c losed an enjoyable evening. July 8. President in chair, attendance •small. Artic-les vc re road from White ltibbcai and Vanguard i»ai*ers. While the gills sewed, .Mrs J. Banks gave a very interesting paper on Joshua. Music al items were contributed by Mrs Banks, Misses Cook, Barry, Robinson ami Beale. A very profitable evening closed with the* benediction. TIM A it V. July t». The Timaru "Y’n" held a very enjoyable social at Mrs Shepherd's residence"
on Monday evening. Musical item* ancl games made the evening pass all 100 quickly. A dainty supper supplied by our President, Mrs Gordon, was then handed round, and greatly appreciated. AUCKLAND. July 1. The President, Miss A. M. M' Bay, presided. There was a fair attendance. The subject of the evening was “Favourite 11 \ mus*. Eleven members took part. Six very excellent papers were read. Tv o solos were sung, and there were also rendered, a Violin and Gomel Solo, and a very tine re‘ itation taken from the hymn ‘‘Rock of Ages." The President gave a short Temperance Address. This was a very interesting and inspiring meeting, the time and thought expended on the papers being very commendable. Three new members joined. BRIGHTON. June 11 Mrs F. Mitehell preaided over a well-attended meeting. Mrs Hall briefly addressed the members. A debate, ''Should

Election of officer* then took place. All present officer* wen-re-elected, with the exception of the White Ribbon Agent; Miss I>. Williams undertook to fill the position, also as White Ribbon Agent for the Mother I'nitwi. After games were Indulged in, a mice .'Upper wahanded around. June 28. The Syllabus for thin year wax discussed and passed. Decided that a surprise party to be held instead of next meeting, with a view to gaining new members. Two new members were present.
