England’s Breweries, both before the war, and now, number 230. Before the war only one of these paid a dividend of 25 per cent, and 60 returned no profit to the investors. Now there are 12 paying 2 5 per cent., and upwards, and only 22 making no returns. Nearly 50 million pounds is invested in English Brewing industry.—“ British Temperance Advocate.”
