Fhe following extract* from the re port presented hv the Rector of the !• eliding High School will be ol great interest to our readers. 1 he* Sc hool ( ommittcc has done* mi c h welcome work for the* good of tin children during the- year, notably in enabling lunch to be* taken in an orderly manner in ihe quad by pro* vid ng unis and gas fittings for heat ing tlu* water. During the winter inorths every child having lunch is provided with a c lip of hot cocoa. Our thank*' arc* spec ully due* to the moth eis who sent us milk throughout the winter, .it a time when it was often very scarce. The children were never without a ecitain . mount id milk, and often it was in gcaul supply. In geneial 120 to 140 chilehen take lunch in the Ouad. For the his* time in the school's history, ladies have been oil the School Committee, and it is right and fitting, and a thing to be proud of, and one* of the* ladies is an old pupil of the school. Ladies are eminently in their right place on school commit tee*., and I hope* each vear will see sonic* elected, and trust that the old pupils of the school will become com mittee members, and see that the* school Carrie's on for others in ,t stdl better way the work which it did L>r them.
