DESTRUCTION OF FOOD.
From the beginning of the war to September 30th, igib, the food destroyed in Britain in making beer and spirits (excluding alcohol for munitions) amounted to 3,250,000 tons. This would have been enough for the 7| millions residing in London all the time. The waste represents ilb. of food for every home in the country for every day of the war.
