At the end of the course participants should be able to welcome visitors and reply to a welcome on the Marae. These courses will be Marae based. Saturday 28 February Saturday 18 April Saturday 27 June Saturday 19 September Satruday 7 November Fees 1 day course $lO approximately 2 week course S3O approximately 3 week course SSO approximately COURSE CONTENT Level 1 Requires no previous knowledge of the language. The course provides an introduction to Maori language and culture. Level 2 Entry prerequisites:— Satisfactory completion of Level 1 or equivalent. Course aims to extend students' vocabulary and structures in both formal and informal situations. Level 3 Entry prerequisites:— Completion of Level 2 or confidence in the use of Maori in basic formal and informal situations. Refresher Courses These two day courses are designed to help learners of Maori to maintain and increase their ability to use the language. It is preferable that participants in a Refresher Course have completed the intensive course at the appropriate level. Classes for Whanau Groups The ATI is willing to consider providing te reo Maori courses for Whanau groups in the community. A Whanau class would require an average attendance of at least 15.
