Presentation to Maori Women With Professor Williams, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sydney seated beside them, Mrs Mana Rangi, Mrs Honor Goldsmith and Mrs Hine Potaka sing a wai after the presentation (above, right) to Mrs Potaka by the Chancellor, Dr H. D. Black, of letters of acknowledgement to the women of Matakana Island. The ceremony was a mark of appreciation to the Maori field officers of the Aboriginal Family Education Centre movement, who had come with their knowledge of pre-school education to help the Aboriginal people.
