In New Zealand, as in most parts of the world, venereal diseases are spreading fast. They are highly contagious. ? More than half the cases treated at a hospital clinic are under 20 years old. ? Early symptoms, particularly in women, may be unnoticeable. Only medical examination and laboratory tests can identify infection.
