miss harata huanga pohatu, of Ruatoria, has joined the Mauriora Maori Entertainers group in Los Angeles. At present this enterprising group is travelling throughout California, entertaining at schools and colleges. a play centre and educational centre at Orakei was opened recently by Lady Fergusson, wife of the Governor-General. Hundreds of people were present for the opening, which marks the successful conclusion of two years of fund-raising efforts by the people of Orakei. miss moehau te uaua of Waimana, a second-year student at Ardmore Teachers' College, last October represented New Zealand at a Christian Youth Conference in the Philippines.
