Rev. H. Paraone The Rev. Henare Paraone (Henry Brown) died at Kaitaia last August after some weeks of ill health. An Aupouri and Ngati Kahu leader and a Church of England minister, he had been stationed in the far north since 1931. Mr Paraone was said to be one of the finest preachers in the Maori church, and was a most brilliant orator on the marae. The tangi was held at his home settlement of Waimanoni, and the funeral was at Awanui.
