? Maori residents of Christchurch and the surrounding districts have decided to raise £2,500 to buy a section for a proposed marae, or community centre. Canon Te H. Kaa, who convened the meeting on behalf of the Christchurch National Marae Organisation, said the raising of £1,250 with a Government subsidy of an equal amount could buy the section, which was already available near the Rehua Maori Hostel in Springfield Road.
