In a ceremony outside the meeting-house on the Waitangi marae, the Queen and the Duke were introduced by the Minister of Maori Affairs, the Hon. J. R. Hanan, to a group of sixty eminent Maoris coming from all parts of New Zealand.
The Rt. Rev. W. N. Panapa, Bishop of Aotearoa, meets Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh.
