The Maori Synod of the Presbyterian Church has now made its college in Te Whaiti into an agricultural school offering a two year course in agriculture, animal husbandry, farm mathematics, farm engineering, farm carpentry, English, social studies and Scripture. It is open to pupils who have completed two years' postprimary education. Practical work is done on the school's 600 acre farm. The Te Whaiti Nui-a-Toi Agricultural School prepares for a life on the land, or for study at one of the two Agricultural University Colleges Fees for boarding and tuition are £90 per year including everything.
