HOKI TE KEREKAU MURRAY The death occurred at Te Puna of Hoki Te Kerekau Murray, a chieftainess of the Pirirakau tribe. She was aged 90. The chieftainess retained all her faculties and enjoyed good health until her death. She retained vivid impressions of episodes of her childhood, and was highly regarded as an authority on Maori folklore and legend.
