SONIC YOUTH & FOO FIGHTERS TOUR JANUARY
Sonic Youth and the Foo Fighters play Auckland and Wellington early January just as Sonic Youth unload their new album Washing Machine ("about eating pork sandwiches with mustard coleslaw" — Kim Gordon) on their adoring fans. The twosome play Auckland's Logan Campbell Centre on January 9 and Wellington's Town Hall on January 10. Buy your tickets early or miss out! Look out for interviews with both bands in the December or January RipltUp.
Ministry — who's in the band? Last we heard Al Jourgensen was out on bail after drugs were found at his home in Texas, and the remaining members of his band, including Paul Barker had all been sacked. But here's a preview of the delightful cover of the much-delayed forthcoming release Filthy Pig.
Malibu exile Cher is now living in London with a new lifestyle a new look and a new record It's A Man's World. "If you don't keep on growing you die," says Cher. The album includes the James Brown-penned title track and the first single Marc Cohn's 'Walking in Memphis'. Trevor Horn produces 'The Shape of Things to Come'.
