FERDINAND quickly was given his first taste of the tricks of the diplomatic trade. His father, the Count, set him to work cultivating the friendship of Prince Said (J. Edward Bromberg), son of Mohammed Ali. Said would some day be Viceroy of Egypt, and his friendship would be useful. Ferdinand found Said was interested in learning to box. He offered to teach the Prince.
