Theatres to Close In Palmerston?
TPHERE are persistent fumours floating round of momentous changes in Palmerstan North’s theatre world. One is that the Opera House will be closed down, and the Regent Theatre converted to enable wrestling and boxing mate 7s to he held there. There is also talk of the Mayfair Theatre being closed. To the "Record’s" representative, T. L. Craigie, manager of the Mayfair, commented. that there was a considerable backing of truth to each. rumour, but ao definite statement could: be made till after the next meeting of his company.
