Station 3ZB installs Radio In Hospital
STATION-MANAGER Stewart Duff, of 3ZB, the Mayor of Christchurch (Mr. R. M. Macfarlane), Bob Speirs (who conducts the regular hospital session), and Sir Hugh Acland (representing the Hospital Board) were the principal speakers recently when the trustees officially handed over the new radio installation to the Chalmers Block at the public hospital, Christchurch. Contract price for the work was £410, and
that amount came to 3ZB by subscriptions ranging from a_halfperiny to a cheque for £50. Philanthropic work of this nature shows the power of radio and its magnetic appeal to all sections of the community. Station 3ZB’s appeal for this fund was "on the air" for only a comparatively short time,
