Maori Choir Member Goes To Station 4ZB

POPULAR feature from. 4ZB recently has been the weekly broadcast by Kyra Jupp and Airini Grenell, both of the prozramme department. Kyra is well known to 4ZB listeners, as one of the stalwarts of the children’s session. She was one of the most prominent members of the station’s concert party and one of the station’s accompanists. She was given a rousing farewell when she left at the end of November to prepare for her marriage to Lionel Sceats, production supervisor, early in January. Alrini, who is taking Kyra’s place in the programme department, is fairly new to Dunedin, though she is well known to Christchurch listeners, being a popular broadcaster from 8ZB. She was one of the leading soloists in the Waiata Maori Choir which toured England and Australia recently. Interesiing feature of one of her later broadcasts from 4ZB was thar the four numbers sung in a bracket were written and composed by Mark ‘Tozer, 4ZB’s programme organiser. eee eran FOOT OS Ee
