T is a wise new move on the part of the BBC to issue instructions to its programme staff that henceforth programme items with foreign titles must be: announced in English, wherever possible. Thug, "Marche Hongroise’ becomes in the BBC vocabulary "Hungarian . March," and "Die Meistersinger" will be called "The Mastersingers." Where an English composer saw fit to give his work a foreign fitle, as, for instance, Elgar’s "Salut d’Amour," -this will be retained, as also will titles which do not ap pear to necessitate translation, such as "La Boheme," which would not look or sound so well as "The Bohemian World," —
