N.Z. AIR FORCE WANTS YOUNG RADIO TECHNICIANS
ILE the Royal New Zealand Air Force has had an excellent response to the recent drive for 5000 recruits for the eivil reserve of the Air Force, and the standard of applicant has been satisfactorily high, it is understood that there are still vacancies in the technical trades section, particularly for radio technicians, In regard to the radio branch of the reserve, the Air Force is looking for young men between the ages of 18 and 25 years (though specially qualified candidates may be accepted up to the age of 35 years), who have had a certain amount t training and are anxious to prove themselves. Operators who are capable of sending and receiving at a limited speed are given every opportunity to study and improve their standard, and are given valuable training in various branches of radic. A number of young men for the radio section of the Air Foree will be required in the near future.
From the Mailbag X2HQ. (Frankton) writes that he has received a verification from a station on 14,443 k.c., the identity of which had dxers puzzled recently, He gives the following details:--address: Estado Espanol, Gobierno Civil de Malaga, Departmento de Radio, Malaga, National Spain; frequencies: 14,443 k.c and 7229 k.c.; power: 750 waits; Zep. aerial; schedule: 13 to 14 and i9 to 25.15 GMT on 7220 i.c., 23.20 to rb end 0.15 to 115 GMT on 14,443 2 CARDS back since my last notes are VS7GJ (Ceylon), FT4AG (Tunis), XU8BHT (China), OAX4T (Peru), VESBS (Canada), and a second card from BAI43 (Canary Isiands}, this time for a report sent to EHZ. FTLAG states that it.is very rarciy that Tunis receives reports from New Zealand... He also operates FPT4AA, and FI4AN. fF reported all thres stations. TSTGEZ says he will not 9SL unless an IRC is enclosed with reports. VESEY will appreciate reporis. He apologises for his card being a bit old-fashioned as it was printed in i924. This "ham" has had considerable rddio experience and was in the Canadian Corps of Signals.
