Artists in Australia
(CELEBRITY artists continne to follow each other to Australia in rapid succession. Now on his way to Australia is Sigurd Rascher, the saxophone yirtuoso who will reach Fre mantle on May 31 to broadcast and make public appearances for the Anstralian Broadcasting Commission. His tour Will open in Perth on June 9, and he will appear in the various States. No one will be able to accuse Sigurd Rtascher of playing hackneyed items during his Australian tour, judging by the list of items which the young saxophonist has forwarded to the ~ Aus tralian Broadcasting Commission. Among the suggested -oncertos is one by Erwin Dressel, and the list of sonatas includes at least three modern works hy Wolfang Jacobi, Ernst Lothar von Knorr and Hans Brehme. Nric Coates’s "Saxo-Rhapsody,." "Concertino di Camera" by Jaques fhert. und A Rhapsody hy Debussy are other num: bers suggested.
