Nuffield's Million For Films
| ORD NUFFIELD is prepared to invest £1,000,000 in the British film industry, according to ‘’Variety," America’s _ best-informed publication about the entertainment world. "Variety,’’ after discussing Samuel Goldwyn’‘s visit to England to talk about a new United Artists’ deal with Alexander Korda, says: "Another deal hanging fire is with Lord Nuffield, who is prepared to invest £1,000,000 in film production with Korda. It is held up by a counter-proposition for Nuffield to acquire interest in holdings of the Woolf group in Universal Films and Pinewood Studios. New capital would be used for making films in England and Hollywood, with possibility of bringing over Deanna Durbin dnd other Universal! stars."’
