ON a recent Thursday, that everpopular series of musical dramas, "Dream Melodies," was heard for the 200th time on 2GB at 9.30 p.m., New Zealand standard time. This is surely a remarkable record for a series of dramatisations, each complete in itself and each woven round the same theme -that of the relation between popular melodies and events in our lives. "Dream Melodies" have covered all types of music from the stirring "Colonel Bogey" March to the sentimental "Broken Doll," from the plaintive "Chant Sans Paroles" to the thrilling "Gloria" from Mozart’s 12th Mass.
