HIS EIGHTH CRUISE
OFFICIAL ENTERTAINER TO THE "EMPRESS" MASKING his eighth cruise’on a luxury liner, Frederick English, the well-known English baritone professional entertainer on’ the" Emy press of Britain, broadcast a recita of art-songs from 1YA during the big ship’s stay in Auckland last week as he did at Wellington the previons week. . ' Mr. English’s family is evidently gifted in the arts. for his son, a professional ‘cellist and graduate of Trinity College. is .a member of the Einpress of Britain’s orchestra of 14 players, while his daughter is weil known in London as a designer of tapestries and art work. Byerywhere his ship goes Mr. English gives recitals. During the visit of the Canadian ship fo the Dutch East Indies he broadcast from the new Java radio station when the temperature in the studio was 96 in the shade!
