iH HAVE received an interesting letter from ‘"Dual-Wave," who is now located midway between Blenheim and Kaikoura. As there is no power available he is using a five-valve dual-wave battery set and finds the locality on the coast wonderful for reception. On shortwave all the Huropeans and North and South Americans usually come in at R8, QSA5, and, on broadcast, we envy his being able to cut out 1YA in favour of K R. ANDREWS, the well-known com‘4. mentator of KI, asks me to request all listeners to report to KFI and particularly state the best times they are received. From these reports an endeavour will be made to present something suitable for New Zealand, I might mention that station KFI is giving New Zealand a great deal of publicity, so that listeners’ letters containing interesting news will he accentahle.
REGRET to receive word from Mr. Andrews of the death, at the early age of 86, of Mr. Fred M. Craft, one of the world’s keenest listeners and one of the busiest correspondents as well. Another World DX Competition. ME- OLIVER AMLIB, president of the International’ 6000 to 12,500-mile All-wave Radio Club, advises of a forthcoming DX ‘contest and promises to forward details for publication in this paper as soon as they are ready, Du to the Christmas rush very few of us can get time at the receiver, so reports from listeners will be very acceptable.
