ECENTLY returned from a triumpb- ; ant tour of the South Island, the band of the New Zealand Institute for the Blind provided listeners with a delightful hour’s entertainment on Thursday of last week, The concert was relayed through 1YA from the institute’s concert hall. The band, much improved of late, playing with nice balance and variation, gave several bright numbers, with occasional instrumental solos and sea chanties, Allan Morton, the young _ blind cornetist who-won the New Zealand championship at the last band contest, and the Rev, FE Chitty, the blind parsan and alpated orgari to carte nated a couple of beautiful cornet-organ duets, —
