our views on the programme put on by 2YA on the night of Monday, August 17, from 9 p.m. on. Static was bad,. and the only station that we could listen to in comfort was 2ZF relaying 2YA. "The family was gathered round a log jire blazing high, Whe night was dark and stor mys not @ star shone in the sky. So Father switched the wireless on to make our spirits soar. But nearly all that he could get. was static’s crackling roar. ; The only station we could hear above the awful din, Was 2ZF of Palmerston, and so he tuned it in. The programme "From a Musie Halt" relayed from 2YA Was all. we found to ‘listen to as evening wore away. Why should our strongest station ‘put out an awful tot Of numbers that.were tucked away and should have been forgot? Perhaps the folk at 2YA think they can be re-made — By bringing them from off the shelf and having them relayed!
