Last week she atington Travel Club partly.in honour of visiting musical artists, on the morning on which Eileen Joyce-and a. world-renowned Pianist, too-arrived from . Australia. (Eileen No. 2.) No. 1 espied No. 2. (whom she hadn’t met) sitting somewhat alone in Palm Lounge of Hotel St. George, and promptly decided that a measure of companionship was in order. It wasn’t long before the two Eileens were discussing ways and means of -relieving the solitude to which Eileen Joyce seemed to be doomed at her hotel-even if she did set herself the task of practising for seven hours a day. Flat-hunting (permanent job for Wellington’s. unemployed). was fruitless. Eileen Boyd had to leave. for southern engagements on the Friday, but she knew another Eileen (No. 3) who- was really in New Zealand first,. but here she is coming in at last. It was Eileen Clark, herself a.pianist of no mean qualifications. Friday arrived, and No. 2 .met No. 3. As quickly as these things can be done, Eileen Joyce locked her grips and packed off from the hostelry to accept the invitation of the Wellington pianist. Optice and a spot ‘of home life.
