photograph of Norman Long with his equally famous piano, taken in one of the studios at Broadcasting House, London, For five years Norman Long's cheerful personality was buried among dusty records and policies in an insurance office. During the war he proved his ability to entertain, and he has the distinction of being the first entertainer ever to broadcast—November, 1922. He also appeared in the first Royal variety performance to be put on the air.
