Valuable Assistance of Shortwave Club

To the Editor Sir,--I would like to take an eqportunity to express in your paper what a remarkably fine institution the N.Z. Short Wave Club is, It seems that it is hardly known about Wellington, but akout two months ago I had oceasion to eeme into contact with one of its members, At the time I was considering buying a wireless set, and was in somewhat of a quandary as to what kind-to buy. My new: friend advised me on certain points and, with the co-operation of other members of the elub,. I finally bought an all-wave set which gives every satisfaction. In addi‘tion, I was shown the correct hours and manner of locating foreign stations and many technieal points of wireless which ‘even the shop assistants did not seem tos know. Several members of the club have firstclass. knowledge of wireless-I mean the construction .and manipulation of all parts-and J was amazed to Jearn that hardly anyone knows of the existence of ithe club, I think this space should be cousidered as wel] taken up iu your "paper, and that the club should ve brought more to the notice of people interested in wireless. To bring-together young and old in the interest common to the majority: of people nowadays is to help the growth of a world-wide movement. And this fact. combined with the valuable knowledge obtained rhrough association with the club. means that men are being .trained in’ something that may be of great "assistance to the country in emergencies Therefore. I think that all that is pos sible should be done to forward the iv terests of this elub. and T am bringing its activities before the publie notice for that reasou.-ITI am. ete,

D.
