i PUTT TU Cn OCG e Oh te oo) NEUE Germany Changes EastAsia Broadcasts HANGE of season has prompted the Reichs-Rundfunk-Gesellschaft, controllers of the German shortwave stations providing ,world programmes. from Berlin, to change the wavelength for the East-Asia Transmission each day. Beginning with this month; the transmissions on DJA, 31.38 metres, will be discontinued ‘between 2 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. (Central-Europe Time), as these wavelengths | will not guarantee a good reception during the hot season of the Northern Hemisphere. | During these hours the German shortwave station will be operating on the wavelength: DJQ, 19.63m. for East-Asia, and DJB, 19.74m. for South-Asia. Since May 1, 1935, the daily transmissions to East and South Asia are as follow: Zone 1 (South-Asia): DJB, 19.74m., 6.30-8.0, Ber#: time, and 9.45-13.15. DJN, 31.45m., 9.45-13.15. | DJB, 19.74m., 14.00-17.30. Zone 2 (East-Asia): DJQ, 19.63m., 6.30-8.0 and 14.0-17.30. It will be seen that the programmes provided | particularly for Australia and N.Z.
