These two.numbers had--vocal refrains sung in Bnglish. All

other singing and announcements were in

What station is on 530 k.c. every night till 8 p.m.? My latest veris. since last notes are from WS8XAR, WCAC, KLO, DLR4,. LR5, YV1BC, and OPX, . Dxers should look out. for’ this this winter, as he has increased power, and operates till 2.45 p.m., N.Z.S.T. on Fridays and Saturdays only; I heard him on these two days, and reported on both occasions, He verified with a good card with the above alterations mentioned, Two Iéng oyerdue stations, both verified. Bordeaux-sud-Ouest, France, in letter form. I think I am the only one in New Zealand to hold a verification from this station. ‘The verification was 18 months overdue, The other, VK5WH, has been out since August 6, 1988, Can anyone beat that? Set in use is a special DX model fitted with phones; valves used in order, 58, 2A7, 58, 246, 2A5, 80; aerial 60ft. H., 200 long, N. by’ west.189A, (KXaihere), Special DX Programunes. X conditions here during the last twu : weeks have been’ good, but have been marred by. QRN after 7 p.m. _ American stations are audible by 5 p.m. and on- several occasions a few have been heard at 4.30 p.m., the best being WHO, KDKA, WBZ and WOAI, the last-named usually reaching R7 when closing at 5.30 pm . South Americati stations are again coming in; LR3 has been heard on a number of occasions, and also LS9 on 1270 k.c. has been heard once.

Stations recently reported are WCAEH, . KFRO, KTM, WFAA, WPG, WCKY, WHO, Wwowo,. KWG, KOIN, WCBD, XEK, XEW, CKY, JOKK, JOJK, JORK, JODK and a number of Australian "B" stations. Verifications are from WMEX (100. w.), Boston, Massach., WHEU, CK WX (second); KWSC, 27M, KFSD ‘and VK2WR, who sent two cards. The following news is from the MidCo DX Exchange of Wichita, Kansas :- WTAD changes frequency from 1440 k.e. to 900 -k.c.; WCBS -from 1210 k.ec. to 1420 k.c.; KXYZ changes power from 500 w. to 1000 w.; WBBM to increase power to 50 k.w.; KFAB to 10 k.w. In a recent DX programme over KSL announcements were made in BPngligh, Japanese, Chinese and Hawaiian. The following American stations broadcast regular DX programmes, all times being E.S.T.: KGIW, 1420 k.e., 2-3 a.n.‘daily; IKWSO, Sundays, 38-5 a.m.; KX, 1420 k.c., Sunday, 45 am.; KMPC, daily, 3-4 a.m.; VOGY, 2-5 a.m., Sunduy. Dxere should also look out for frequency tests during the first.week of each month: Receiver is a seyen-valve commercial ‘ gttperhet.-‘‘Airfan". (Palmerston North). DX Reception Good in Auckland. PD Sstane reception in this locality is excellent except for local . interference, which: at times is very troublesome. ‘ DX here in fact is as good as in the King Country, though I -have lost several sta(Continued on page 43.):
