YOUNG ‘green dandelion leaves, -boiled or steamed, make an:excellent substitute for spinach, and can be Served with poached’ eggs in the sanie way. AS§ a medicine, a teaspoonful of unsweetened lemon juice in a glass of warm ,water. is an effective gargle for sore throat, A table-spoonful mixed with the same quantity of honey is also soothing. ror the brunette*with very fair skin and black hair nothing quite equals rachel powder with just a hint of blue in: the: rouge. And for the darker brunettes deep peach or tan powder with deep carmine rouge and lipstick is best. HERE'S for a spotted skin: Cleanse first, of course. Rub on foundation cream,-and ‘pat on powder’ liber-ally-do not rub. on, for the powder must combine with the cream to make a thick coating. . Use more foundation cream over this and again more powder. A third powdering will pretty Well cover up those spots. Or you can get the cream and powder mixed in tubes. It is imported; a little goes along way. This is even more effective, O you break your finger nails? Hold the split parts together, coat them with enamel, moisten. a piece of white court plaster, put this on. and cover with two coats of ‘pink or colourless enamel. This makes a washable mend which is good for a day or 60. and- can be renewed as long and as often as you wish. This is a’ good thing to know, for a broken finger nail can ruin one’s appearance and temper !,Adhesive tape is even more practical, but not so invisible. as court plaster. UTUMN hats vill be unusually ‘yaried in line, although in all there will, be one .point of resemblance -pronounced height of crown.
