Loggings and Verifications. (CONDITIONS have been very poor lately and heavy static makes dxing impossible at times. The Americans have been coming in at good strength and can be heard as early as 6 p.m., summer time. KNX, KSL and KOA are the best Americans and are received at excellent volume most nights. The Australians have also improved in volume and are coming in much earlier and consequently are interfering with the early evening Americans. ; ._ New stations logged are CK WX, WHBQ, KGIW, KFJZ, KXL (all 100 watts), W6XAI, W9XBY, XEMO, .KOY, KLS, KVOD, KJBS, WDAY and WNEW. XBHEMO (865 kc.) can be heard on a DX programme every Sunday night between 7 and 9 pm. KGIW, Alamosa, was on a DX programme on Sunday, February 3. Latest verifications are Budapest. Graz, Bari, Moscow, Breslau, Brno, XGOA, JOAK-No. 2, CKCD, KGGC, KWG ‘(three 100-watters), KIFYR, KFPY, KGW, KTUL, KFEQ, KSCJ,

KGDM and WJJD. KSCJ, Sioux City, verified after eight months. They stated

that:my report had been mislaid.-

QRN Severe. a DURING the past week or so I have heard XWNT signing off between 7.05-7.10 p.m., New Zealand summertime, on 910 k.c., and asking for reports. A verification from KDOV states that they were KFX‘T, and that the station is unchanged, only the call letters being altered. QRN has completely spoilt DX here, although the Pacific Coast stations are at good strength, and any dxer who has not. yet logged KOMO, KOIN, KFWB, KFVD, KOL or KFPY should certainly try for them now. If any dxer is interested in stamps, and would care to exchange New Zealand with French ones, would they please write to me, as four collectors in Strasbourg have written asking for an exchange in stamps. My address is L. M. Anderson, Rotokare, New Plymouth.
