TH recent Austrian Broadcasting Exhibition at Vienna displayed 2 sequence of hundreds of receiver designs sold since 1924 with the original price of each set. Since 1924, when the first Austrian station began on 25 watts to serve 11,000 listeners, the audience has grown to 511,000 subseribers, and the principal station of seven, Bisamberg, has a power of 100 kilowatts. % ae * BE wireless section of the Frenca Police Force has been working 12 years: Lately they demonstrated a motor transmitting and receiving van. The aerial goes up three times the height of the van automatically in a few seconds. The van is to be used as a centre for police cars and for communication with aeroplanes at points where concentration at headquarters is not convenient. The yan is the first product of a scheme for 53 combined transmitting and receiving stations; one at headquarters, one at technical headquarters, five similar to the van demonstrated, twenty ' cars throughout the Paris stations, and 26 at suburban stations.
