Laurian Club Concert
a "THE second coucert for the 19384 season given in the Radiant , Hall, Christchurch, by the Laurian Club wits very successful. The items inciuded Haydn’s Symphony No. 97 in C Major; a posthumous Schubert work, the Adagio and Rondo for pianoforte, violin, viola and violoncello, played by Bessie Pollard, C. R. Moon, Dora Deal and’ Marjorie. Chapman; Rachmaninoff’s "Sonata for pianoforte and violoncello," played by Althea Harvey Slack and Harold Beck; and "Three Miniatures," by Frank Bridge, played by Mrs. F. S. Grant (violin), Noel Cape-Wil-liamson (violoncello) and Noel Newson (pianoforte). The assisting vocalist was the Rev, Lawrence A. North, who sang three Schubert lieder, the accompanist being Mr. Noel Newson.
