Some Tips from Texas
A SELECTION of valuable tips is contained in this letter just to hand from a Texas member, Mr. E. L. Kimmons, of 507 Leland Street, Austen. He writes :- "I received the membership badge and certificate O.K.; thanks a lot, I am proud of them. Here are a few _ tips that my fellow dxers can make use of: "Station Radio Excelsior LR5, 830 k.c., Buenos Aires, Argentine, South America, will broadcast a special DX programme the first Sunday morning cf December, January and. February, from 1.5 a.m, to 2.5 a.m, Central Standard time, These programmes will be dedicated exclusively to the Newark News Radio Club. Station KOA, at Denver, Colorado, has been kind enough to close down his transmitter at 1 a.m, G.S.T. in order that the LR5 programme might:be heard, _ "Station TGW, 560 kc, at Guatemala City, Guatemala; Central America, has increased its power to 10 kw. and has a DX programme each Sunday morning about 8 a.m, to 5 a.m., ©.8.T. There will also be a special DX programme dedicated to the Newark News Radio Club from the Columbia Broadcasting System station, WBOQ, 860 k.c., New York City, on December 9, from’ 2 to 8 a.m. 6.8.7. "Station WHDF, 1150 kc, Kosciusko, Mississippi, transmits a DX programme each Monday and "Wednesday morning from 1 a.m. to 2 a.m. C.8.T., except during the first week of each month. Station KF'YR, Bismarck, North. Dakota, 560 k.c.; is on the first Wednesday morning of each month, 12 p.m. to 1am. 0.8.1. Station CFCN, 1080 k.c, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, each Thursday night, 11 p.m. to 12 p.m, Moun. tain Standard time. Station WwWL, 840 k.c.; New Orleans, Louisiana, on each morning, 12 p.m, to 3 a.m, C.S8.T., except Monday mornings. . Station XBEMO, 865 k.c., Tijuana, Mexico, each (Continued in next column, )

Address: P.O, Box 202, San Diego, California, "OKMO, 1014 k.c., Vancouver, B.C., Canada, also heard several Sunday mornings 12 p.m. to 2 a.m, O.8.1, Station KFKA, 880 k.c., Greeley, Colorado, will have a DX programme on November 25, beginning at 1 a.m. 0.8.7 "T would like to ask a favour. Being a member of the Board of Directors of the Newark News Radio Club, and cfficial "Radio News" broadcast band listening post observer of this State, I desire very much to get first-hand authentic reports of special broadcasts on DX programmes in New Zealand, Australia, ete, If such reports can be forwarded to me-I will see that they are published in the "Radio News" and in the club paper, which I represent, and the credit will be given to the right party. ‘Alternatively, if you

"P.S.-Just received a letter from my friend the executive secretary of the Newark News Radio Club, and he says that station W2XR, 1550 kc, Long Island City, New York, is on the air cach evening, 5 to 7 p.m, B.S.T., except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
