"Chu Chin Chow" Breaks Records In New York
"(\HU CHIN CHOW," the first of the _ pictures with which the GaumontBritish Corporation opened their attack on the American market, had an enthusiastic reception at the Roxy Theatre, New York, recently, according to a cable message from Mr, Jeffrey Bernerd, general manager of the company, says an English exchange. The "Film Daily" regards "Chu Chin Chow" as "the biggest thing in its class that has yet come from England." The "Motion Picture Daily" says it ‘mark: a definite challenge by Great Britain to
American: producers." Public; interest in the event was proved bythe fact that only once in the four years’ history of the theatre has 80 much money been taken in one night.
