"Misleading Information" Given to Gene Sarazen

To*the Editor. . Sir,-As an announcer, I think Mr. Currie, of 3YA, is "the goods," but after hearing him try to interview Gene Sarazen last evening, I am convinced that interviewing ‘is not his metier. Any experienced interviewer would never have made the mistake of saying that golf in New Zealand was not an all-the-year-round game. In many places it is just that," An experienced interviewer would alsv have been able to put Mr. Sarazen right about the trout fishing in the streanis crossed by the main south road. All of these streams provide

great trout fishing close to the main road. When one thinks of the Americans in Australia listening-in to that interview, one cannot but regret that such misleading information was given in reply to Mr. Sarazen’s questions. Sarazen’s remarks were enjoyable, bu‘ the interview could have been made nore interesting from a golfer’s. point of view.-I am, etc,

COLONEL BOGEY

Oamaru.
