PRELIMINARY demonstrations of a mobile two-way radio system for the Boston Police Department were earried out recently in Schenectady by engineets of the General Electric Comjpany. The system differs from others of the same general type in the absence of all tell-tale equipment, such as "fish pole" aerial poles on the cruising cars. The messages from the car were sent through a standard Fretich type telephone installed in a convenient spot’on the instrument panel. When the car was called from headquarters the policeman lifted the phone from its hook and the transmitter functioned immediately, Ultra shortwaves tere used, .
