Radio Round the World
— HE Moscow-Noghinsk 500 kilo watter now working on 1481 metres, and which from January 15 next will operate on 1714 m. (175 k.c.), is undoubtedly the largest station so far erected in the Old World. Its plarrt 1s ultra-modern, it has cost nearly four million roubles for machinery aigne, and it only requires a staff of five engineers. The transmitter, situated at roughly forty miles from the Soviet capital, is connected to six separiite studios pending the opening of ‘Mioscow’s new Central Broadcasting House. Es Es] WE "Funkammer" ig the name of a new German club, of which members are the broadcasters, fhe ‘ broadcasting Press, industry, trade, critics, and listeners; the secretary is a Commander Werber, formerly of the navy; the president, nominated by Dr. Goebbels, of the Propaganda Depuirtment, is expected to be Herr Hado mowsky, the ex-locksmith, who is the Government’s chief organiser of pblitical broadcasts, ete. The new club will attempt to extend the use of broadcasting in Germany, to Suppress interference, and to make all parties to broadeasting in Germany happy. * Psd ws : "THE A.V.R.O., undoubtedly the largest association of radio listeney's, recently celebrated its tenth annivemrsary. By the end of the year it is anti'cipated that its membership will reach the 200,000 mark. Although a privétte organisation, which receives no subsidy from the Dutch Government, it giwes work to a staff numbering over tivo hundred persons, possesses large he.ndquarters at Amsterdam, and has built _ several modern studios at Hilversun.
